New Mexico Makers

A taste of New Mexico in every stay

We fill our townhouses with things made here, by people we know and admire. It's our way of showing you the New Mexico we love before you even leave the house. We mention these merchants and restaurants only because they are the products and businesses we use and love. In most cases they do not even know who we are. We are not receiving commissions or other rewards or links for mentioning them, when we present them to you, we have used or acquired them through their regular business channels so you and they cannot call us "influencers", just admirers.

In your bathroom: Los Poblanos

Your bath products come from Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm in Albuquerque's North Valley, where lavender grown on the farm is distilled into soaps, lotions and body care first made for the inn's own guests. If you fall for them, walk a few blocks to Farm Shop Norte, Los Poblanos' Santa Fe shop at 201 Washington Ave., where you'll find the full lavender collection along with their Farm Foods and botanical gin. Stay for a cocktail at Bar Norte, made with Los Poblanos' own spirits and herbs from the farm. And if you're flying through Albuquerque, the farm and inn are worth a stop.

In your kitchen: Aroma, O'hori's, or Iconik Coffee Roasters

Every townhouse is stocked with freshly roasted, ground beans from Aroma, O'hori's or Iconik. Iconik is the Santa Fe roaster that brought specialty coffee to town in 2013. Their Guadalupe Street café is a short walk away.

In your glass: Gruet and Vivác (on request)

New Mexico has been making wine since the 1600s, longer than anywhere else in the country. Gruet's sparkling wines are made in Albuquerque by a family from Champagne, and their tasting room is a short walk away at the Hotel St. Francis. Vivác grows high-altitude wines in Dixon on the river road to Taos.

At the table: Market Steer and Sazón

Two of our favorite dinners in town, both walkable.

Take some home

We don't sell anything here, but everything in your bathroom is waiting at Farm Shop Norte, 201 Washington Ave., a few blocks from your door and open daily from 10 am.
